The ace can also be used to complete a low straight: A,2,3,4,5. As well as numbers and faces, there are four different types of suits that are used to determine the value of a poker hand. These are Spades, Clubs, Diamonds, and Hearts. Video Poker hands are valued based on their five-card ranking.

1. Royal Flush (5 cards, 10 through Ace of the same suit)
2. Straight Flush (5 cards of the same suit in sequence)
3. 4 of a kind (4 cards of the same rank)
4. Full House (3 of a kind plus a pair)
5. Flush (5 cards of the same suit)
6. Straight (5 cards in sequence)
7. 3 of a kind (3 cards of the same rank)
8. 2 pairs (2 sets of 2 cards of the same rank)
9. Jacks or better (a pair of Jacks or a pair of higher valued cards)
